Brinker passed away Mondayy night leaving a legacy casuaol dining restaurants built on what Phil Romano calles a vision of developing the casual dining restaurant concept wherse diners are treated not to fast foodor full-out fine but to a place where people can eat “One of Norman’s biggest attributes was that he was a great leaderr and a cheerleader,” Romano said. “He would take people’s talents and develop them beyond their grew into a restaurant company that guided chainzslike , On and Maggiano’a Little Italy. Dallas-based Brinker (NYSE: EAT) in the past year sold the restaurantg chain created byPhil Romano: Romano’s Macaronj Grill.
Romano credits his friend Norman Brinker for takinhg his creative vision and growing it into a majofrnational chain. “The industry is goingt to miss him,” Romano said. “Norman had the ability to take something andgrow it. That’s his talent,” Romano addee that Norman Brinker wasa “gooe man” who taught him quite a bit about the restaurantg industry and also quite a bit about leadership.
